I've heard rumours - or actually I'm creating a rumour (!) - that Markus Schneider's SID-tune "Think Cross" will be performed at Bit Live in London on the 11th of September... Since this must be "the least famous SID-tune at the show", I'm giving you guys a chance to ace that one too!

So, dig into the HVSC sid-collection, http://www.hvsc.c64.org/ and enjoy! It's one of my favourites, I just love those drums! 8)

Matrix: does you phone really have room for HVSC at 192kbit ?

Wouldn't you much rather have HVSC sampled from a real C64 ?

Well, I only just started, but you have 28000+ tunes at 3:0 mins a piece in average, so that's a lot more than you can ever have in a phone! :-)

However, I've not decided yet if to use OGG or MP3 - I have listened to all SIDtunes at least 1 time through, not to mention from when i was 4 and till now, that's is a lot of music, and as I heard digital music my ears have changed, i hear the 'edges' on it, even at highest rate (must be 320k ?) - so I am not satisfied, therefore I'm trying to figure out of ogg is really better than mp3 at the moment.. ahem..

Perhaps this is a waste of time, since we will have so much more space in 4-5 years, that I can just dump it raw or use something like APE (lossless 2:1 compression) - I don't know at the moment..

And also I get more and more vintage in some way, when I listen old C64 tunes, they get better and better, and even when I know for a fact that my SID chips have degraded, they still sound better and better... ahem..

:-)
