Forum trouble (php?)

Post by Zzapback »

Hi remix-people! :)
Lately I encounter (seemingly) random trouble browsing the forum.
I get to see all empty replyboxes (in a topic) and on top of it, the following 'messages':
Warning: Empty regular expression in /homepages/23/d34419251/htdocs/remix64.com/board/viewtopic.php on line 1123

Warning: Empty regular expression in /homepages/23/d34419251/htdocs/remix64.com/board/viewtopic.php on line 1056

Some topics work, others don't.
Do I have a problem?
Or is the forum in trouble?
Anyone has a clue?

Thanx in advance! 8)

btw, I went from +/- 200 posts to +90 -is this any kind of punishment?

Aha!! I thought I was alone in this!

It appears as though if you use the "new posts" option, then all the links to the topics have "&highlight=" on the end. The manual workaround is either to browse the posts from the main front end, or remove "&highlight=" from the end of the URL.

Yes, there are php trouble here...

When you click a link from "read unread posts", you'll get a link like this

viewtopic.php?t=2076&highlight=

..which doesn't work unless you remove "&highlight="
Problem? I don't know... different php-versions?

Solution... manually remove the text in the link. Cumbersome, but it works. Or don't use the "read unread posts" feature...

The thing is I can't read these posts, since this topic has the exact problem that I'm describing!
I can post in it, though. Just can't read the messages.
ARGH, help!

Oh wait, I could read the posts when I posted this reply, and my screen came back. Ok, now I know what the problem is, thanx.
Hope it gets solved though.

What about my dissapearing posts?

If you're posting birthday greets, then it's probably to do with the removal of old postings.

I thought it was a bit strange when my posts count was going up and down a lot and then I saw that I contributed regular to the greetings on the birthday threads.

I could be wrong of course but I think that's the only reason in both our cases.

I can assure you it is much, much more important than that.'

No, I neva-eva post in the birthday threads (I do not celebrate birthdays see, not even my own).
But I post lots of times in the retro-word-games threads, maybe when they close 'm down, I lose posts??

About the disappearing posts: I recently ran a script that recalculated the real current number of posts. So it is likely that in fact the previously deleted retro word associations dropped out of that figure. No punishment whatsoever :D
