Sad news indeed. Happy trails, Dr. Moog.

Incidentally, Hans Fjellestads documentary "Moog" is highly recommended. Watched it at a film festival back in April and its a fascinating tale of the man and the hardware he brought to life - whether you're a musician or not.

Oh, and it's out on DVD.

I wonder if the stuff he was experimenting with when making the synths caused to eventual brain cancer?

And I didnt know he lived in the U.S.

Well he surely left a huge impression on the world of music. And who knows - without his pioneer work, there might not have been a SID chip in the c64...

When I watched the "Moog" documentary a few months back and saw Robert Moog talk about tweaking the ADSR envelope to create sounds I was instantly transported back to reading about that very subject in the C64 manual as a kid. Okay, Moog probably didn't come up with ADSR, but in my heart I'm sure that his groundwork had some kind of influence on Bob Yannes work in creating the SID.
