@DHS: I bet the 3rd picture from your last post was taken from "Meran". I also wonder a bit during my vacation in South Tirol that the cars where in 2 languages (Italian and German), maybe because it's near the austrian boarder.:)

Yup, the car is an old fiat 600, made in the mid of the '50s, but was never used as police car (the pic you too looks from hungary).

Meran? Wich one? The thirs (including the quotes ones) are pretty common in all italy.

As for south tirol, it's a bilingual part of italy, so, yes, they speak both italian and german.
