i wish i had listened to my mother when i was young.
Granted. But the more you listen, the more she would say, and you'd find yourself today still sitting at the kitchen table while she rattled on about the benefits of pinning clothes to the washing line using wooden pegs rather than plastic ones.

I wish I could fart my national anthem.

Granted, but at the height of your fame you go on national TV and have a little "accident"...

I wish that my editor would hurry up and publish my latest article

Granted, but he cut out 60% and rewrote the remaining 40% from scratch, misinterpreting everything you intended to say.

I wish I wouldn't need sleep so I can use all 24 hours of the day.

Granted! At the very moment people are aware of your condition, they keep flooding you with errands so you do things for other people, not yourself, 24/7 for the rest of your life.

I wish I could be wish-less happy.

Granted, but now you've created a paradoxon and the universe will explode.

Granted, but then nobody would get any work done and your boss would become more like mr. burns by the minute... until he says the immortal words 'you're all fired'.

I wish there was a law against making adverts on TV so vague that you can remember the advert but not what they were actually trying to advertise.

Granted, commercials will from now on hypnotize and brainwash you, and you will hear voices saying the products names.

Granted, but then you'd miss all of Friday and get stuck in a theoretical time loop from which there is no escape.

I wish the lawn would learn to mow itself.

Granted. He spills it when rain is expected, but the weather being as finnicky as it is decides to go for a 10 day heatwave instead.

I wish they would run repeats of The Goodies here in Australia.

I wish Paul McCartney had never inflicted the Frog Chorus on the world.
