@DHS: I hope the insurance will pay for both the kenwood and the ruined keylock. Mofu thought it would be clever to use a screwdriver as a batter ram, i guess... :?

Taken from my expedition of the solar eclipse 2006 in Konya/Turkey which you'll never see again.

The "first contact" beginning at 12:45 turkish time.

Same 5Min. later.

The view at 13:06 (25-30% totality) comparable with the maximum possible view from europe.

13:30 - 50%

13:49 - 10Min. before the totality.

The last sunlight at 13:58 few seconds before the totality. There was a notable temperatur fall of 7-8 Degrees. Some birds and animals escaped before the possible and very fast moon shadow are covering us.

Within seconds the last sunlight itself falls together falls before the moon the sun completely covered. Apart from hundreds of being astonished spectators a strange reverence makes itself some in such a way makes clear broadly as dependent we on things those us already always natural appeared.

As fixed hundreds of spectators stand for the beautifully
resplendent corona on our observation hill and look against its sight
despite the successful pictures original-faithfully to never catch
leave themselves.

Very beautifully and clearly also the "protuberances" above on the
right of (the reddish resplendent points) which nothing one but
sucked. Sun outbreaks are, comparably with volcanic eruptions on earth
however around thousandfold more enormous are.

The enormous power of the moon shade within seconds the day for dawn
transformed. The suddenly arising darkness shows some stars even like
the Venus with naked eye well.

The 3. Contact (withdrawal of the totality phase), whose diamond
ring again the moon craws lets flash beautifully before the first
sunlight again slowly shows up. The whole play with exactly 3Min.
and 42Sek. was so beautiful, so fast was it also again by and the
previous play begins in reverse direction to the moon around 15:15
completely from the field of view of the sun disappears again from the
front, this time however.

After hoping and fearing for for many years now a large easement makes
itself broad, to have finally experienced on which I over 20 years of
my life waited - a childhood dream went into fulfilment... it a daily
will repeat itself?

@DHS: Yeah Man, that sucks, I had a similar thing with my car ages ago, but they managed to smash the whole side window in, I know the feeling....

But on a pictures note. I took this with my phone ages ago, I liked it, and think the Spider might have been into Star Trek

Love your photos, LMan - they look really cool - especially the one of the toad.

@ Trooper, the spider's web has a nice haze to it - well done.
