After trolling about in here for a fews years, and since I've recently aquired FL Studio I am going to attempt my first remix.

I just thought I better warn all of you...

Thanks, but I'm not so sure about that Subzero... :D

I've started work on a tune that no one has done before, and I'm just hoping to create a tune good enough to be excepted on kwed.

Hehe. There's a prototype remix of one of my SIDs underway, gotta learn a bit more about FLStudio first though.

OK, if you want a laugh, here are a couple of "first attempts"

1) Remixing my own SID. The tune is called DOWNPOUR (VARIOUS/M-R/Merman/Downpour.sid in HVSC), it was written for the abandoned remake of Penguin Towers and here's da remix:

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/david.fish ... wnpour.mp3

2) Remixing someone else's. Having chatted to Steve Rowlands about remixes of his tunes, I thought I would do one myself. So I present the APEX BEATS Duda_funk remix (Rowlands_Steve/Music_Select_2.sid subtune 6 in HVSC):

Feedback welcome.

So, anybody listened to them yet?

Yup... but it takes some more listening for me to say something useful. On one hand I like 'em but something in both disturbs me (beside the instruments), have to figure it out. :)
Oh, did I said already that I am completely untalented in music ? :P

Ok, I'll have a go, one beginner to another.. :D

obviously a note for note mix, but sounds a little thin and needs padding out as it still sounds like it 3 channel, other than that good.

Again this sounds a like a good note for note version, however the instruments chosen could do with changing as the don't seem to fit well.

Keep it up :)

So merman hows goes it?

I've almost finished my tune, However I don't think I'll offer a sneak preview of it or say what it is for the moment.

Haven't had time, to be honest. Thanks for your reaction. I've had a couple of ideas for a remix "style", but it's just finding the right tune to remix. I will definitely have a go at remixing some more of my own stuff though

if any one is interested.

Since the mighty Boro have at long last won a piece of major sliverware, I'll let it slip that the tune I'm working on is the menu tune from Matchday 2.
