...i just queued a new remix :
http://www.sensible-sound.de/mp3/parallaxhs.mp3

feel free to listen :)

i never cover a galway tune again ;)
*just kidding : i love galways music*
i have always problems with his lead-sounds not finding an nice non-sid-sound. it was hard work and finally i am not that satified with this work but i got tired of experimenting  i wanted to give the song the feel i had when listening to it : happy and powerful, just making me to jump up !

so what : just try to enjoy :D

:D Nice opening, reminds me somehow of old James Bond Movies with Sean Connery, dunno why.
Though this ends apruptly with 00:30 and the guitar. Overall you reached your goal : a jumpy, happy tune. :D
There is a part with a flute. Sounds like Mahoney paid you a visit there...

sadly rejected ...
i can't catch the problem.

but i fully agree with zero tolerance policy saving the nerves of the people doing so much work for us :)

Daniel

Did you follow the guidlines all the way through? Filname, SID-info and such correct?

Hi Sonic,

thx for your question. you are well know to me, cause i listened a lot to your remixes before i decided to try some for my own :)

i renamed the mp3 file before uploading to sensibleosund-parallaxhs.mp3 and copied the full path of sidfind in the given field:
http://www.c64.org/HVSC/Galway_Martin/Parallax.sid
Maybe i had to drop http://www.c64.org/HVSC ? The http://remix.kwed.org site is causing error to me regulary :
i can't remember exactly ,but something like "Internal Server Error 500".
This error appeared immedeatly after uploading, but i received an mail from the site telling me my remix is successfully queued.

The mail i got for refusing my song states this :

Incomplete upload:
It seems your upload was cut short. Please try again

But i do not want to try again and nerve the site-admins doing the same error again ;) I really do not want to blame anyone of the scene doing the hole work for us and so i am really not upset but somewhat frustrated.
even the parallax tune isn't that good as i wanted the song to be it was hard work and i think it is worth a upload.

the main problem is, that my english is so bad, that i am nether sure if i understood all rules right

maybe you have another hint for me and i can upload again :)

thanks for you ear ;)

maybe you should contact jan 'bout this....
did you got a mail that your remix was rejectet ???
if not, there's maybe still a server problem, i've got
the 'internal server error 500' a couple of times as
uploaded my last remix(deliverance)...

cheers ifadeo

It's just a technical thing: your upload must have been interrupted and so the complete song wasn't on the server. You should upload again.

I wonder if this is the same problem as the incomplete downloads reported by a few people.

Yes, sounds like the problem a couple of people have reported before.
The fact at the time was that the upload limit was set too low, but that ought to have been fixed by now. But try again. The worst that can happen is that you get an identical mail again.

An yes, cut the http://hvsc.c64.org part out. just use:
Galway_Martin/Parallax.sid
as searchpath.
Do not have a "/" in front of the path, use use the exact phrase from above.

Also good to know that I'm know to people. Thank you, pal. =)

I just got a first chance to listen to the mix - it's quite good, and it's a rather different take. It's perhaps a little eclectic with regards to the choice of instruments, but they mostly work. One thing that could be better is the drums - that snare, in particular, is pretty intrusive.

thx for your comment :)

i thought over the snare and listened again after your comment : you are right.
there is a problem with arranging remixes. after i while my ear gets thumb and used to the song - with all its bad elements.
perhpas it is better drop a composition for a while , then listen and again and overwork it , and then releasing it .

Damn, i was to "fast" ;)

Yup, I think leaving things for a few days and them coming back to them fresh is a good idea. Also, doing the old "art school trick" and working on at least two or three things simultaneously is a good idea, because each piece feeds the others.

jeppa , i am working hardly on different tunes to please my ear, but i often make the mistake ,near finishing, to concentrate on one song.
maybe i better order my friends to check out my songs before releasing ;) but qualified judges in terms of mixing etc. are not easy to find at hobby-listeners . me for my own have enough problems finding the weeks of my songs  :D
first you are happy about your song, then release it and the first listener with background in terms of producing music writes a critc and hits the spot. ...and then you think . oh my god - what was wrong with my ear
