England back to winning ways and about time too! Roooooonaldo!

It's ironic that we played average against Switzerland and rolled them over easily..... :)

Was watching the bit on the Beeb's coverage of the France game where Gary Lineker was interviewing Motty about England's performance. Motty was on form as usual, this time with a great tabloid headline - The Teenage Terror Makes The Swiss Roll.

Croatia are going to prove a good test for England on the performance they gave against France. Cracking goal by Prso still wasn't enough to get the win they deserved. I found it very funny that France were 1-0 up and coasting then were 2-1 down only 4 minutes later - got a great deal of satisfaction out of that happening.

That's a very good idea, Makke! I'll drink to that tonight. :P :D

Good luck to Sweden tonight. With Larsson & Ljungberg on fire, they are more than a match for the Italians.

ENGERLANDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!! ENGGGGGERLAAAAAAAAAND!
etc.... bloody brilliant... totally smashed whilst watching the match.. took part in the new ritual of shouting "rooney!! rooney!!" .. he might be a lil podgy and seriously violent (its the liverpool connection)... but boy is he a lil superstar... though now im worried about us vs croatia.

we got one past the french which gives me a lil confidence that we can stuff the croatians.. but the french struggled against them, they defended pretty impressivly and gave as good as they got.. they are a relative team of unknowns to us eeenglish people.. apart from rapiac and tudor n a maybe a few others that i cant think of at the sec... but if we get past ... a prospective vs greece game would be REALLY nice... or even portugal cos they are playing a lil pants at the second... PLEASE PLEASE NO SPAIN!

and no germany in the frikking semi final either please
or france again... though i think 2nd time around we'll batter them
or holland... though on 2nd thoughts;
id love to see a holland vs england final just so i can watch neil squirm during the match over who's paying for who's beers come bit this year hehehehe

but yeah.. yesterday's game was excellent.. we started off a little shaky and im sure everyone joined in on the "oh god we are playing crap" bandwagon.. but it was soon quashed and we did pretty damn good.

would have liked to have seen ledley king play again from the start mind you.. despite being a chelsea fan and loving terry.. just feel ledley did a better job, a real hot prospect that man and a totenham player! WOW! a good totenham player! hahahahaha!... ahem.

and finally... good luck sweden and italy... sure it'll be a good match.

though i have a sneaky suspicion who's gonna win and they aint got any e's in their country's name.

yeah, not the best of performances, but i'd take a 3-0 and play average rather than play well and lose 2-1. ;)

The croatia game worries me tho, they are playing quite well, despite not chalking up a win yet.. Hope it stays that way ;)

i wonder if owen will start automatically next match tho, he's certainly well off form at the moment and Vassell seems maybe at the moment a better option. Brave move, will Sven do it tho!

Impressed by sweden other night, and not impressed by a rather poor Italy side. Interesting game tonight, i'll go with Sweden with a brace from Larsson.

and inf: Holland v England final would be great, but only if i'm better off afterwards in the beer stakes ;)

He plays much better for England than Everton, to be honest. At Everton he's picked up more yellow cards than goals this last season, and in their last game of the season at the City of Manchester Stadium, not only did City whup their ass 5-1 (I went dool - YESSSSSSSSS! GO!), but Rooney played dreadful. I'm glad for him that in the England set up he's found his true form. Only thing is, I imagine a big European team offering Everton so much money they can't realistically refuse...

It'd have been different if one of the Swiss free kicks were scored early on. We were poor until we scored the opening goal, and it took the harsh sending off of Bernt Haas (careful pronunciation required here) for us to take control. Frank Skinner made me laugh on FFL last night about that (Haas is a West Brom player, you see)

Not least as the Scummer Silvestre gave away a penalty for the second game running! Some of the Scum fans at work tell me he does that every week and often gets away with it - they don't rate him at all.

raf... an england vs germany final would cause me to come out in a rash get the shakes and have to leave the country for 6 months just to prepare my nerves for it... no thank you!.. great team but PLEASE!! LEAVE!!! lolol

i swear to god if i hear the word "penalties" at anytime during this cup i will be doing the above steps but quicker.

i have a feeling we'll get past croatia but only by the skin of our teeth.. i have a horrible feeling that raf's suggestion will come sooner than the final's (forsee's germany vs england semi final penalty shootout)... and if .. and its a big IF.. we get past germany.. then its likely we'll be seeing france or holland.. there wont be an italy this year they aint playing that well and i doubt they'll be going anywere very fast.. but then again maybe they will.. .either way fingers crossed for a nice draw.. GREECE PLEASE!.

Raf:

In terms yes it would be cool, but since we always seem to lose against germany in these championships, i want to keep well away from them ;)

Well, after our game against whats-their-name, I am about to wet my pants in frustration. Nearly 70% ball posssesion in 90 minutes and not one freaking goal. Only thing that made me smile was the 3-2 over Holland by the Czechs. Being a Dortmund supporter, made me smile seeing Rosicky and Koller doing their thang.

So... if we now only manage to win against the Czech B-Team, I have a feeling that ENG:GER semifinal might, just might be within reach.

that certainly fell into your favour the Czech/Holland result. Ya see, however poor the german team is, they always have a certain lady luck with them.

Mind you raf, i don't fancy germany much against the Czechs! will lady luck shine twice?

it's our big game today, all we need is a draw, but the croats are no easy team to beat. I hope we go for the win and don't try and settle for a draw that would certainly spell defeat! like the ever underachivers spain found to their peril yesterday.

COME ON ENGLAND!!!!!

Yeah! COME ON ENGLAND! Go for the semi-finals! LOL! You know who will also be there! COME ON! LET THE GAME BEGIN! YEAHHHH!
