I'm going to Manchester area next saturday and i'll be staying there for a week.

I was just wondering, if anybody could recommend any good retro or nostalgic places/stores or such worthy of visiting.. ?

Any advice greatly appreciated ! :D

Waz could probably help you out there... ex-Ocean Software offices for starters I guess...

Well, I don't know if there's that much to see, C64-wise. Ocean's old offices were at 6 Central Street, just behind the Central Library - that's easy enough to find. Their new offices are in Castlefield, not far from all the swanky bars and appartments, but they didn't move there until the 90's, so I assume you're not interested in that. Oh, and of course it's Ocean no longer - Infogrames Manchester these days!

Having said all that, Manchester is a great place to visit and there are plenty of other sights. Let me know if you want me to point you in the right direction!

Thank you for the directions to the ex-Ocean ex-offices :-)

We're planning several locations to visit, this will be one
of them then... :-)

Thanks,

Not for 64, go visit Vinyl Exchange, easily one of the best record stores in England.

Where else are you thinking of going? (Please don't say Old Trafford).

Vinyl Exchange , where is that ? :-)
Sounds like my Mastercard is starting to evade my wallet... ;-)

We're going around a bit, visiting BlackPool,
York and Liverpool.

The details of those journeys are being kept and planned
by my girlfriend who is studying at Salford University,
so my guess is that there's going to be a couple of
surprises along the way :-)

Take care,

Well, have fun :) Also, if you're into all things retro, have a beer in FAB Cafe, where they have a large collection of TV memorablia - it's on Portland street in Manchester, but your girlfriend probably knows this.

Btw, Liverpool and Yorl are nice, but Blackpool????

All right I'll look into that possibility aswell :-)

Thank you everyone for replying to perhaps
almost one of the most off-topic threads
this messageboard has seen. (?) ;-)

After tonight I won't be around my internet
-connection so I won't be able to reply anymore
until the week after next week.

Thanks again!
