My Plans for 2007 and Beyond.

As the year end approaches (just around the corner) and with possible being out of work at the end of November, I hope to spend some time with just having fun and doing things I'd like to do. I've been thinking about some Project ideas and as well contributing to the scene somehow, not hundred percent sure how but I'd like to contribute in some way. Here are some Ideas I have for 2007 and beyond.

1. A Music Video - I have already started working on this, it will be very Retro/C64ish related, it will be quite some time until its done but you will all know about it as soon as its done.

2. Uridium Ultra - what is that you ask? Well I'd like to get my hands dirty and do a PC Port of the 1986 Hit Uridium. Now why bother with a port when you can play the originals on the emulator and why call it Ultra? well I plan to include all the levels from the Original uridium and Uridium Plus into a single game keeping as much as the original feel/look as possible. With possibly some small enhancements here and there. Maybe a Tune for each level (there are 30 of them).
I have just started sketching out the details. I haven’t done any serious programming for quite some time now this would be a good practice to get back into it.

3. Web site Launch. What Kind? I don’t know yet!! I'd like to contribute to the scene in someway how I'm not sure yet.

4. A Remix on RKO - I have several, started but never finished tunes in some shape or form, some very rough cuts sitting around. I'd like to finally get one or two done and hopefully have them featured on RKO.

So those are some of my plans for 2007 and possibly beyond as they are all time consuming and I've never done a Music Video or programmed a game.

Sounds like nice projects, all of them :)

Best of luck

edit: why, i could share some of my plans, too :>

1. Be a good father, my wife and I expect our first child in just a couple of weeks
2. Be healty and lay off the beer
3. Instead of getting myself into lots of fancy plugins, try to get some actual work done
4. Set a new highscore in Raiden 3 (its a FANTASTIC shootemup for PC (and PS2 if I'm not mistaken))
5. Learn more astronomy
6. Get rich and pay people off to do all of above except 1 and 5.

I'm just hammering out some ideas for Uridium. Here is a screenshot of preliminary work on one of the levels. Top is the Original and Bottom is the new enhanced version.

Oddly, I think the texture makes it look less 3D on the new version.

Well if you plan to do all of that, you've got your work cut out for you. :) Sounds exciting though.

indeed, they are some good plans

mine are

1 - finish my ep
2 - finish my album and get it released
3 - further my life experiences and become something more than i am (im definitely not reaching my full potential.. about time i bared my teeth)
4 - ask the girl up the chipshop out on a date and stop being so damn gay about the whole affair.. whats the worst she can say? (dont answer that you'll make me paranoid)

anyway, i hope to achieve at least 1 of these before 2007 ends.

good luck with yours analog :) especially the uridium thing sounds like a promising idea.

Here's my schedule:

2006
- finish another 3 remixes (hopefully)
- release a PanamaSpeed revival track
- finally do the laundry

2007
- record some Drown Inc. tracks, self-produced again, since our January's release kinda flopped (what was pretty obvious without promo)
- have another baby (it's already in the oven :) )

Hehehe its good to see I'm not the only one with Projects in mind.

I just hope I'm not biting more than I can chew.

I've got a lot of reading ahead of me...especialy figuring out how to create tile maps for all the Levels in uridium.

But seriously, I hope that some of you will give me some feedback and let me know what you think as things progress.

I think there should be no problem to keep a thread here on the forum for your project. There are enough 'Pixies' around here to lend you a hand.

Regarding my plans for 2007:
I try to get a job even when this means to use the dark side of the force to trick the company (where I'm working as a 1-Euro-jobber) into hiring me as a fulltime IT-specialist. This won't be fun for sure but I get more money and a fair chance to rot the hated company from within or stage a coup d'etat.
Nyahahah... Oops.
