Ok I started working on this little while ago.

http://www.angelfire.com/planet/zedigal/ (Central Park (test clip)

I'm currently updating my recording gear, so it might take awhile before I get this done.

Anyways some feedback would be nice, especially regarding the instrument balance..

Edit: forgot that straight links to files don't work in angelfire so I changed that link so that it should open index.html .. and linked that mp3 file there..

Edit: finaly done with this after upgrading my gear... so the new final version http://gildaren.fileave.com/music/Final01.mp3

That link didn't work for me clicking on it - got an error page.
But copying the link and pasting it into a new page worked.

Ok I think this remix isn't going to happen before I update my computer...

Anyways I tested little solo idea at the end of the song. I didn't want to make it straight copy of the original, but i tried to maintain the basic feel.

at least I have month or two to work my chops, since my current computer can't run all VSTi / effects i need to make this sound like i want it :|

If you're confident in the effect on a track, why not apply it offline to create a new WAV and then use that? There's no particular reason to have to do all the maths at one time...

Also, does your sequencer have a rendering facility? Then you could apply all the VSTs you wanted and create an output WAV directly in non-real-time.

Well I could try it that way... when I get back home.
This is the one of the first songs I started to record using Cubase SX 3, so I'm not familiar with it yet.

Ok It's been 2 years since I decided to make this remix. Back then my computer was old piece of crap and I had oh so wonderful integrated audiocard :D

Now got back to this remix and re-recorded it..

So need little feedback (instrument balance and especially with low-end frequencies. Since I'm not currently home and i have to use headphones)

That's very good indeed, one problem I have is there seems to be a wrong note in the small piano part at 2:27 and again at 2:35. I don't know if it's deliberate or not :), otherwise I like it.

This is good stuff... occasionally the bass guitar is a little loud compared to other instruments, but aside from that it sounds pretty good :D

Ok finally I have time to get back to this remix. So going to re-record guitar parts. Trying to eliminate all interference from my guitar signals and work some balance issues.

Almost done with this... needs little tweaking here and there and it should be ready for uploading.

Any feedback is welcome

okay, so... the drums are pretty cool. But I don`t like the Guitar-sound - it doesn`t sound really good @4:33 and kinda strange at the beginning :? .
I love the break at 1:28 (and DAMN!!! at 2:22  ) with that nice little Piano in the background. :) It becomes fuckin` epic at 3:22 - I sense there`s still MORE room for additional orchestration at this part of the Song, so it could be a real "woooow"-highlight within the Track. But it`s good at this point of state, no doubt about it. :D

I guess this Song needs to "grow" a little bit, but you`re definitive on the right way. Would give it a 7 (maybe a 8 ) out of 10. Well...I guess it would be the 7 `cause of the Guitars ;) Maybe that`s a yellow Smilie at RKO...hard to tell, if you only heard the Song once like I did right now.

Agree with Sarah on the early guitar points, they just sound the wrong "time" for the piece, like trying to fit something 3/4 into a 4/4 track. Otherwise, looking (or sounding) good...

Changed guitar sounds and recorded few things again

Also panned somethings and added some EQ and balanced overall sound

Edit: re-recorded once again few parts that were played sloppy (too much gaming, not enough playing it seems)

Got this remix finaly done after starting the project two years ago... then runned problems with computer/soundcard not able to handle the things i was going to use to make this remix happen.

So updated my gear this year and started looking to this remix again, few weeks ago and now it has finaly sounding the way I like it :D
