Stuck in D'a 80's - Half way through the 2nd encore of Paperboy they changed to what sounded like a hubbard tune. For a while I was convinced it was Auf monty

I know it wasn't, can someone rescue my poor brain here... ?

Cheers Chris!!!!! My brain is saved for another day!!

Surely you must be basking in some kind of personal warming glowing warmth at the activity and revitalisation that BIT has given to the whole community.

I'm glad you survived :) When I spoke to you later in the evening, you looked ready to collapse, either that or you were so overwhelmed from the whole event?

None of us together that Saturday night will ever forget the experience.

Well, I've always thought that BIT and CD releases lend a kind of structure to the remix scene: a sense of occasion. Plus of course meeting all the damn nice remixers and composers. I don't think there's a friendlier scene :)

The reason that we did that, and why we put part of IK into Way of the Exploding Fist, is that we innitially chose tunes which would be relatively easy to play.

WOTEF lasts around 20 seconds, and Paperboy just moves around 2 chords.

Now, we knew that the number of live artists was smaller than originally thought, so we wanted to extend the set. If we just made WOTEF and Paperboy longer, we would have fallen asleep.

I'm sorry (not) to say, that both the extra tracks were my ideas, as both of the extras were favourites of mine. Especially the middle part of Arcade Classics.

I'm amazed how well Paperboy went down with everyone. Amazing what a wah-wah pedal can do :)

Madfiddler> when you guys played Paperboy I couldn't stop thinking about the Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy Theme-music. :)

The HHGTTG theme is "Journey to the Sorceror" by The Eagles.

This has been a public service announcement... ;)

I'm sure there was a C64 game or visual effects program, which had Tubular Bells as the music.

I suggested to SID'80s that we could legitimately do TB's as it's a C64 game, just in case we ran out of material. They didn't fall for the idea though.... :?

EVS did a cover of TB and can be found in the flip disk part to Torture 3 or on the image part on Suicyco Mania...

Yes Dan, I did. Sorry, been busy. Up in London today recording a demo for what will hopefully be the England football song for the EU cup next year....
