Re: C64 Walkabout Podcast (#13 - Knight 'n' Grail)
been listening to the Bombcast since it started, although shows which go on for 2 hours is too much for me. I end up listening for the first hour then turn it off.

Re: C64 Walkabout Podcast (#13 - Knight 'n' Grail)
Exactly, I like to hear people being enthusiastic and talking about the topic or even off topic, but when all they do is talk about themselves all the time week in week out it gets rather annoying and pointless. Re: C64 Walkabout Podcast (#11, Realms of Quest Interview)
guess I am so used to people being very enthusiastic about these things, tend not to see many shy people in the scene.
Has peaked my interest in the vic-20 for sure, esp as I love that kind if rpg

It was interesting, but it seemed like a big effort to get him to maintain the conversation! I nearly switched off after 10 minutes, but was great to get his insight

The BBC micro startup noise is my fave, I used to have it as my windows startup noise but it was just a bit too loud!
Lets not forget that the Mac still has a bootup sound to this very day.

Re: Is this experience using 'real' hardware or not?
Depends what you want from emulation. If you simply want to see something in action, play a game or see some software running then an emulator is great. However if you want to experience and relive the retro experience, than real hardware is what you need. Glowing green screen, smell of the case and...

In no particular order
System Shock 2

Many many that I enjoyed or loved, but these ones stood out for me big time.
