Re: Reyn's GrandMix 2008 [1st of three]
Is there a list somewhere of the tracks used in GrandMix #1?

Re: New video by Reyn : Wizball
Reyn, I just heard your take on Ghosts'n'Goblins. You HAVE to release it. I've been looking at the sundayservices page and remix.kwed but it's nowhere to be seen. I almost fell off the chair when I heard a new funky studio version of Ghosts'n'Goblins that I haven't heard before. Please...

Re: Please help me identify this piece of Amiga demo music
Yes it is. Thank you very much for responding. I'm impressed you were able to determine the right song from my rudimentary mp3 file. Regards While you're at it, try to find the Sleepwalker mod he did. Great stuff (and I loved the Crystal Hammer mod as well). I still have my first floppy of Soundtra...

Re: Oldschool
Hmm, I've never had any advanced setups like you guys. I've had a Kawai K1, Ensoniq SQ1+32, Fostex XR-5, Atari 520ST (with oooold Cubase). I wish I could find an Ensoniq SQ1+32 again, I have a whole bunch of rescued sysex-dumps with sounds and songs that I made ~15 years ago that I'd like to revive ...

Shouldn't this go into "Other Releases"?

I'll kill this project off. I don't know what else to do with it and I don't feel particularly inspired when working on it. Still trying different thing with kettle (in my head, haven't started recording yet).

Re: How do you hit the right notes?
When arranging, I always play the SID as wave along with my remix to make sure I've got the right notes. It can be a very time consuming and frustrating method. I find it to be good though, not only for getting the right notes, but also to get a feel for the melody and the song. That's how I do it....

Re: Listen to your own tunes?
I only listen to my old stuff when I'm in a nostalgic mood or when I'm looking for ideas to work on.

Re: Looking for "Wings of Death" speech-samples
Looking at the Original files with a Hex Editor, I can confirm that it is a TFMX Format track. If the samples are not compressed, it should be possible to rip them directly from the TFMX Format into their RAW and converted to WAV or something. That's how I did it in old days: do a warm reboot and e...

Re: Looking for "Wings of Death" speech-samples
Don't know what it's called on other soundcards/solutions but with my X-Fi Platinum I just have to record "What U hear" and whatever is played (delitracker, winamp, wmp etc.) will be recorded.

Re: Notes > Chords >
This won't help much, but while I know some basic music theory I never "think" in those terms (ie. I don't think: "okay, now I'll play within a modal D# scale, or perhaps play some Locrian runs!"), I just "feel" when a note is false/wrong. When I want to learn a song on...

Re: What sequencing package do you use? Rsn, FL, Cbs, Renoise?
I've moved to a new audio/sequencer package. It's a 3.2mb installable .exe, it's got most of the stuff that Cubase have, it supports asio etc., VST's, VSTi's, DX effects and DXi's, multicore CPU's, over 3GB of RAM, XP, WINE, Vista, 32/64-bit and soon OSX. It's fast, easy to use (easier than Cubase) ...
