Mac mod player?
Mac mod player?
So … been a while since I listened to .mod (or any tracked music really) on my Mac, and I just realised that there is a void of up-to-date platers. Or is it? In other words – what piece of software should I get to, well, listen to all of them mods? I have doubts that there are any Apple Silicon optimised players, but there must be _something_ decent that runs under Rosetta2, no?
Re: Mac mod player?
Not a Mac guy, but VLC has good MOD support and has an Apple Silicon version.
Re: Mac mod player?
Thanks. Yeah, that plays back .mod:s. Also found another Mac proggie that plays back stuff. Another question: does a PC-player exist that allows for separate extraction of samples included in a mod/xm/whatnot? If so, I might be able to get that piece of software to run in my win-emulator. Perhaps, maybe.
Renoise? There's a Mac version of that DAW. Might have a stab at it.
edit: yes, Renoise could open the .mod I wanted to open. Will try other formats when/if I need.

Re: Mac mod player?
I use foobar2k, although I'm on Windows. It seems to have a Mac-version, but not sure how well-maintained it is.

I use these components to enable support for more or less every module format known to man:

Ah, thanks! Will have a look later.
Have looked now: seems like that application is pretty old (although runs under Apple Silicon/MacOS 12). I'll stick to Renoise for now.

You can listen or compose MOD or XM music on any computer with any operating system with BASSOON TRACKER, a MOD and XM tracker online made in javascript.

There's also Cog, which is free and open source:
https://cog.losno.co/
And then there's PlayerPro, which also is free but hasn't been updated in ages. Here's the link anyway:
