Remixes that exist because of ai

Post by I_R_on »

I know I would be frowned upon once I create this topic but nonetheless I'll still do it.

I created covers (or say remixes) for my covers (or say remixes) using suno ai. It's the cheapest way to try how the certain style would fit for a certain tune. With the advent of artificial intelligence, my appetite for learning music has already faded. I know these aren't full-fledged tracks, but I don't plan on releasing them in any form other than demoing them like this anyway. Hence the fun forum section.

Allow me to frown, but most likely not in the way that you expected it. Because this is not a comment on the Suno AI (or any sort of AI at all), but about this:

Human creativity has been a thing ever since the stone age, and it will continue to be a thing. Because it's in our nature to create. Imagine if people would have lost the appetite for creating anything, just because someone three caves over had already painted an ox on the wall or carved the Venus of Hohle Fels out of a piece of ivory? Elvis would never have picked up the guitar, because why bother to play an instrument when Robert Johnson had already written all the good tunes?

If you're looking for a reason not to learn a creative art, you've got more reasons than just AI. But if you were really feeling the creative urge, none of those reasons would keep you from pursuing that craft.

Creativity : Well, I didn't fully mean this when I was talking about my interest in learning music has been diminishing... My creative will is still as strong as in the time when I got my first Casio keyboard and since thereafter... It's certainly not about finding a good song idea, a good melody or a new song structure it's about the other stuff that separates the amateur and professional stuff, better mixing, instrument quality, using recorded real instruments, more effort being put into a production and so on...

Just like those famous musicians who only bring the creative ideas (like Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, Adele, Taylow Swift, Beyoncé) and noname (most of the time) skillful people around produce the songs for them... now, everyone has one of those skillful people around them. of course with the much reduced chance of being famous.

Yes, in this site all of the works are about creativity in re-arranging, remixing, reshaping of already existing original musical ideas so my comment is a bit too general to speak up here...

About the covers I posted, at least when you hear them, you have the chance to hear them in certain styles which you would never hear... maybe it fires an idea about a remix project in you, maybe you sample a certain part and use it...

it's low effort, it helps one to communicate his taste of remixes (I think)

For example : Could you name one remix that renders any sid track in Folk metal, arabesque or in Gospel style?
