I can announce that the next in the "Project" series will be... "Project Norman". It will feature material hand-chosen by Paul Norman to reflect his career, his favourite covers of his own stuff, and in the CD-ROM section it will feature the game Aztec Challenge 2 - in Flash! It's got all the Paul Norman trademarks: i.e. insane difficulty level, lots of blood, breasts aplenty (what do you mean you never saw the FEMALE ghost in FF)? It will also feature an orchestral remake of Super Huey, finally, and will also feature some of Paul's own non-C64 music. And SIDs, of course
The "Project" series is basically about producing something which represents the composer and his interests fully: which means the format and contents will change: the only constant will be the active involvement of the composer themselves: it's their CD, basically.

use a cooperate design for cover and booklet, so you can lower your costs
for a design artist..... and you got with such a design a good edition character....
I'm lucky to have quite a few talented people doing cover design (Kenz, Boz, Arvid, Steve B.), so they can put together something that's more individual. If I was having to pay someone outside the team, yours would be a sound idea
But it's nice if each CD has a distinctly different feel to reflect the personality of the composer: luckily the brilliant talent in the scene makes this possible
Hmmm. When I first heard the news about this I was a little dissapointed - but only because I had really hoped for Project Hubbard.
Having said that my next thoughs were "How many tunes has Paul Norman done ?". A quick HVSC search reveals six. So I was quite pleasantly suprised to hear of the extra's that are coming with this new project (Aztec Challenge 2, etc).
It'll be interesting the see the final 'playlist' for this project - It certainly sounds intrigueing, a combo of Sids, Remixes, Unreleased stuff, and a game.
Good luck with it all Chris. I do like the idea regarding a series of volumes, but 'Project Hubbard' would have to be on a larger scale to encompass the sheer volume of his work. Here's hoping it's next, till then I'll be keeping an eye out for Project Norman news.

And I have the other C64 if you need to borrow, Chris.
Needs testing with a monitor though as Waz and I were having problems tuning it in on his telly. As soon as I get a monitor, I'll test it properly.
The RF modulator had extensive tweaking (ooer) but ultimately no 'blue screen'. Power came on but nothing else showed up on screen besides all that 'snow'.
Btw, Ben said mine may be the one that Trap was composed on but he's, understandably, not sure as it's been so long since the tune was done.

I had a good listern to both Galway CDs and wondering what if Ben Daglish's SIDs were done in the same fashion as the excellent Project:Galway.
Then today I read that Wazzaw and Paul Chapman have the C64s that Ben composed on.

Put it this way Tony, they've gone to a good home. And more than that, I'm actually using that C64 at the moment to compose tunes, which will be nice when they're done.
Project Daglish would be on: no doubt I could either lend the C64 to Chris long-term, or record them and send the results to Chris.
Chris: maybe we need to discuss the recording process, I could always set it up at my place and save you all the hassle??
Um... remind me (brain = sieve). Paul has gone to ground recently, so I'm not sure of the status of the CD. Chances are Project Hubbard will appear sooner. Must give Paul a chase up...
