No one was ripped off, really. It's just that Martin Galway appears in a track on the current "Clubber's Guide 2004" from the Ministry of sound, and for some reason his name wasn't against the track. And one of the artists claimed that he wrote the bassline (it's from "Game Over") in a quote on the record label homepage.
However, the financial aspect is OK, so it's more irritation than anything else: Martin Galway owns 7.5% of that track. After all, they only used the Game Over bassline...

However, is it possible he was listed on the copyright papers as arranger, not composer?
This would enable the publishing company/record company to legally leave out his name on any credits, as arrangers are not entitled to writing credits (which is unfair I think).
Anyway, 7,5% for a bass line is pretty good. Well done!

Nah, he's definitely a composer. It says so on the co-writing agreement.
Also, the deal with MoS was done by the record label behind the track: it basically goes me -> Aussie Publisher of act -> record label -> MoS
MoS should be a lot more interested in the commercial potential of what we're doing, I think, especially as they dealt with Zombie Nation. Still not sure how to crack that particular nut...

Well, I never let things like that get away.
A credit is after all quite important, since it can get you new work, and that means more money. Which is a fair thing since we all need to get paid for our work, and a credit doesn't cost anyone anything.
I specify clearly in all my contracts that not crediting me is a violation of the copyright law as well as the contract, and will result in actions being taken.

It's amazing what you can find on the internet these days... I found this rare cut of the "RIDE" track which they obviously changed so they didn't have to credit Martin...
