Atari remix sites?

Post by Xelebes »

Hi, some of you from OverClocked Remix know of my recent decision to dedicate myself to remixing Atari tunes. I'm just wondering if there is any Atari remixing sites or should I stick with OCR?

remix ST? I don't have an Atari... I just decided to devote myself as I saw that there was a lack of Atari remixes. So, in other words, stick with OCR?

Oh... wait I now understand. Stupid me. 2600 related. And ST. I have a few.

Hehe don't be discouraged by us Commodore fans pulling legs about Atari. I'm certain Matrix was just kidding. And I bet it would be the same if I asked someone about Commodore at an Atari forum.

:)

Anyhow, with Neil (aka Tas) you have a friend here, regarding Atari.
Any 8-bit music fan is welcome here, so, welcome aboard!

I like the Atari 400/800/XL series. It's well documented!

For instance:

PIXELSURGEON: What are your earliest memories of the C64, and what did you like best about the computer?

Chris: I remember visiting a friend in 1983—he’d just got a C64 and several games, which were very impressive, but the music in Jeff Minter’s Hovver Bovver just blew me away. Prior to that, I’d only heard computer music on the Atari 400. I decided the music to Preppie and Shamus was the best I’d heard in my life, but then I wasn’t acquainted with pop music, having led a bit of a sheltered life—my dad thought Grease was too rowdy!

Shame the article was never mentioned in Remix64's news - I imagine plenty of C64 remix people won't have even heard about it...

I was kidding actually lol .... Degas Elite rocked as an art pakage, and ST's midi functions were well above spec for systems of the day.

As was I. I'm no hardcore fan of any system, just giving some love to an unloved system. (musically)

I got a Frogger for the 2600 remix. I don't think it has the same music as the C64 does. Also, am making a Tetris (ST) remix and maybe a Pitfall 2 (2600) remix and a Donkey Kong (2600) remix. Aw well, I'll guess that I have to submit to OCR and/or VGmix.

I checked remix.overclocked.org, and they only had one Atari remix, which happens to be a remix of a choon from the Jaguar.
