I found it to be a very clean, civilized, interesting place really. Of course, I had little time to do private things, but one of my meetings was with Fujitsu - one very large company, made us feel very small indeed! LOL . I also got to see several shrines and temples so that got my personal interests covered.

I loved Tokyo - just the thought of having a central station with some 4 million of people passing each day, and then having more than half of the bicycles outside without locks. THAT'S AMAZING! Such a great and safe environment and culture. I loved that.

But, the porno magazines at the local lunch restaurants... and the gentlemen reading them is pretty strange. And well, those vending machines really contains everything you wish you didn't know about... ;)

Japan is really nice. Expensive, but not that expensive if you manage to stay away from the biggest restaurants and hotels. I would recommend anyone to go there, at least once in your lifetime! :-D

Tas, I didn't met her in person... one day, she started writing to me because someone mixed up addresses... at first she thought I was a girl.
We exchanged some letters for fun. Her parents did believe that I was about to marry her (dunno why) and started to plan everything.

Konnichi wa

Pex, that's exactly my view. Some things are a little strange but mostly, I have to say it's a nice place and not THAT strange - like many people would like you to believe it is. We're all humans. The Japanese just have some older traditions (pretty much like european middle-age if you think about it) - and most of them aren't troubling. Japanese culture is based on respect and it shows. I have come to learn a lot about this country - also from my preperations before the trip and I have read quite a lot and have even had the pleasure of having someone to translate and help me a little - a retired, well educated gentleman who has now become a friend I would say. Possibly the most interesting place I have been to in my life.

Rafael: I guess we think the same, then!

Uh... the short version:
Japan (Tokyo/Kyoto): As stated above, an amazing country!

Thailand (Bankok/Koh Samui): Bankok is hell on earth. Really. Smog, cars, noise, rude people that only wants your money. And on Koh Samui, it was beautiful (as long as you looked to the sea and not the land ;) ... One thing you don't notice in the photos from such a place is that the water tastes like shit (too much salt), and makes you want to puke after 30 minutes of scuba diving!

Norway: (Oslo/Trondheim) Very nice people, the Norwegians! Oslo is a nice town where you should not use a bicycle. I tried, and failed miserably by not noticing the tram rails on the ground.

Soumi (Helsinki): Just a short visit, nice buildings, but probably not the place I would stay any longer than a weekend.

UK, London/Brighton/Swindon: Those roundabouts in Swindon... I didn't know that you allowed madmen to become traffic planners in the UK. ;) Brighton: Nice place when the sun is shining. And oh, it did at Bit Live :-D London: Great place, if you need a t-shirt or very much like to go by underground. Too busy for me in the long run.

Germany: Nice people, a little bit "too industrial" towns, whatever I mean by that. ?

The Netherlands (Amsterdam,Eindhoven,Den Haag,Delft): Those language geniuses are really nice! The smaller the town, the better. I even managed to survive driving a car in the middle of Delft (with the help of two others, Me avoiding running over people, one reading a map, and another one looking for signs of where to go!)

Denmark (Helsingör/Copenhagen): Very nice places, I can recommend taking a three-day bicycle trip from Helsingör and then to the North!

Italy (Rimini/Rome): I can't understand the Italian way of living. They are a little bit "too tempered" for me. The beaches of Rimini were nice, if you manage to avoid being harassed by the Italians. But that's just me!

Australia (Sydney/Melbourne/Canberra): Great place, especially the nature inbetween those places. Great people, and nice nature. This is also a "you should go there at least once in your life"-place!

Singapore: A place they force you to visit, just because the airlines saves some money since they have really cheap airport-taxes. It's a market-place that "emulates" snow in the Xmas season by using soap and water to make white bubbles. Strange, and nothing for me.

France (Paris): nice people in a polluted town. I love the gardens and the buildings!

Well, I guess I missed some, Matrix, but that's some of them. Any comments?
