C64 music article in Retro Gamer

Post by AdamDawes »

For those of you that are interested and don't already know, my C64 music article is in the new issue of Retro Gamer (issue 4). Thanks to all of you that voted for the "top 10" a couple of months back! :-)

I still haven't seen this on the newsagents, or discussed on the forums. And I've had absolutely zero feedback about the CD. I wonder what happened...

Oddly, some shops were selling it a day or two early.
Got my subscription copy on Thursday, the CD is excellent. Oh, and I put some feedback of a promotional nature on the Live Publishing board

Chris, I'd have thought you should have been able to find a copy by now. The usual places to get it are WHSmiths, Tesco (apparantly) and also GAME stores seem to stock a good number of copies. Or alternatively order it from the Retro Gamer web site (http://www.retrogamer.net).

I thought the CD was excellent, I have it in my car at the moment. I even had positive feedback from one of the Retrospec guys who normally prefers the Spectrum to the C64 -- he particularly liked the Sanxion remix (and with good reason too).

I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned here but it has been briefly discussed on the Retro Gamer forum.

Hmm. Well, Martyn is meant to be sending me some copies, but the lack of response is disheartening to say the least: not least because this is a very difficult month and I hoped this would give a quick boost in sales to help survive the month.

Thanks for the tip off Adam - I'll certainly seek out a copy for one particular reason......Ocean Loader Fast version, recorded on Mr Galway's own SID. Why this tune is missed off the Project Galway CD's i'll never understand. It actually took me a while to track down as a SID version, but I always preffered it to the version that slows down.

Good Luck with the mag

Limited space on the CDs, and there was already an Ocean Loader which was more "essential".
