Well, what a game that was, and also what character we showed tonight. We didn't panic after going a goal down, we just built patiently and the chances would come, and didn't they just!!

Roonaldo was, fairly obviously, the star of the show with two well taken goals and setting up Scholes for another (and good to see him back on the score sheet). Thought Owen worked hard for no reward tonight, although his understanding with Rooney seems to be getting better, especially on the third goal where the 1-2 was crisp and neat and did the business.

Still think Beckham's not on form though - I just hope he finds it by Thursday and puts a massive performance in - he's due one, and I'm sure if his head's right and manages to lead more the team will respond to that.

Also thought that one thing we did well tonight was keep possession and frustrate them. One thing we did bad - defend at set pieces. We really need to work on that especially if Figo and Ronaldo start putting good crosses in from those kicks.

Roll on Thursday - the game against Portugal's going to be pretty tough, but we're in the next round and with the most goals scored, and the top goalscorer of the tournament. Come on!!

Non stop hard working performace and the man rooney is getting better and better each game.

The croats did well, but since there 4 min goal it was just a matter of time before we scored. A desverved performance and overall a workman like victory.

I agree though, we do have to work on those set peices, portugal is in a different league than croatia.

The real problem is comparing Beckham's performances in this championship, where he is marked heavily and working unselfishly for the team, with the last two tournaments where he was a star because he did so much on his own...

I agree, a great TEAM performance, patience was the key. Still not happy with Calamity James between the posts, but he did make a couple of key saves.
