web space help related (non C64)

Post by tomsk »

Sorry to place this in the remix 64 forums but I was wondering if anyone can recommend some good web space providers. I know a lot of you have quite impressive web pages/sites so any advice would be much appreciated. Reliability is also required as you often hear some real horror stories.
I'm looking for something with good space allowance and all file upload facility (I do know some sites frown on .Mp3 and .Mpeg files).
Thanks for any help (even if it's to warn me of where NOT to get web space)
I was thinking about Webfusion - anyone hear good reports ?
Cheers

Neil - it's paid web space I'm after. Free web space ain't good enough for me ! :)
I'm not wanting to pay a fortune - but i've seen stuff that looks okay for about £7 a month (or £70 per year) that offers 600 mb web space plus lots of other goodies (frontpage extensions, etc)

Cheers

A friend of mine suggests Macoman (the name doesn't mean they exclude PC users, by the way):

I personally use http://www.valuehost.co.uk%20-. It's got everything I need and it quite a good deal @ £4.45 if you purchase it for 2 years as I did..

It depends on what you want to use it for of course..

Best thing to do is to ask your friends if they have or know anyone with a server to host you, that's what I did.
