Thats Japan for ya, way ahead in terms of quality compaired to Europe! But then the Japanese mentality towards videogame soundtracks are totally different to Europe.

A good quality soundtrack can expect to sell in the region of 20,000 units plus in japan. The same soundtrack wouldn't sell 500 in Europe.

You can also buy these soundtracks in shops in japan, where as in Europe you'd be hard pressed to find one.

In japan Videogame soundtracks are good buisness and they are very serious about it, while in Europe it's nothing more than a passing thought.

@ infy:
Very much so. Downloaded the soundtrack for SH2 couple of months back. It's excellent!

Very much so. Which is a bitch for us fans of computer-/video-game soundtracks, since getting a hold of the hard copy CD's can, and will, get very expensive, if at all possible.

Yeah it's great in Japan with soundtracks.

I was actually contacted by Merregnon (they make some great stuff too) for a game soundtrack. Probably going in August to the concert, sounds amazing.

Should be one hell of a concert. I missed last years due to ill health, so i'm really looking forward to this one.

Turrican Live, can't get much better =)
