Barbarian

Post by hoomish »

I know that I said 'no more requests', but I couldn't resist one more

Subtune 2 (based loosely on Conan the Barbarian, I think) could make a fantastic remix.

That's it - I'll shut up for now

Well, except to say that each SID I've suggested today has not been remixed before (how many times has Arkanoid or Wizball been remixed!) and any or all could make a nice change. Obviously it's up to the remixer to decide what he or she wants to remix, but if any one wants some virgin remix material then look no further :)

Will be on a future Back in Time CD in suitably orchestral fighting form...

Excellent! Can't wait for the next BIT - it's fantasy-inspired isn't it? However, I assume that I'm in for a long wait :)

When I spoke to Richard Joseph at Back in Time 3, Barbarian is one of the things we discussed. I told how much I liked those tunes, and he mentioned that some reviews didn't like it - BECAUSE it was inspired by Conan. I think it fits the game perfectly, as do those incredible SFX.

Chris, I look forward to hearing the remixes

yup... the conan feeling in the music and in the game was really strong... and i really liked the little green critter who kicked sewered heads around... (hmm... sounds kinda sick but it was fun) :)

I'm actually quite surprised as a fan this tune has never been done.

Barbarian was one of my favorite games on the C64, and the music is a reason. I can just imagine the drumming and the brass going all out. I call upon the mighty Glyn to work on this track!... And every one else is free to give it a go too :)

Hmmm... now that I think about it... I think I'll be off to slice a few heads off.

HA !! Mighty Glyn
Nooo .... That's tooo much ...
Thanks anyhow Bruno :D
As for the Barbarian tune , sorry but i'm not interested in doing this tune at all .
I prefer just to listen to the Poledouris version , it' just the same in my ears . Especially the " Conan & Bombaata Battle" from Destroyer .

I did however do a very similiar tune a few years back , i could rip it off cassette & send it to you if you like :D
But bare in mind , i did play it on a Roland D-10

Sorry to hear that you don't fancy doing it. How about Castle MAster or Knight Games II? :)

BTW, where abouts in Cheshire are you from? I live in Cheshire myself, a little village called Marple.

Hey Glyn!

As your #1 Canadian fan (and quite possibly the only canadian fan, although I have shared some of your tracks with friends), of course I'd be delighted to hear it! I'm in the midst of my mid-terms and it could be some new well-needed study music.

How's the taming of the new equipment going? I, like many others I presume, am just dying to hear some new stuff from you. It's been half a year!

Times of Lore? Is that for BIT4?

I used to work at Astra-Zeneca, back when it was just Zeneca. IT support to analytical chemists - quite good fun actually...

Really sorry to hear that there won't be any new music for a while but an Amiga remix sounds like a good idea!
