Zerowing Ringtone demo freebie

Post by Chris Abbott »

Does anyone know this game? Some Nintendo thingy? Anyway, to demonstrate why free MIDI files are a lot crapper than ones specifically tailored to mobile phones by me, wap or browser off to:

http://c64audio.valuehost.co.uk/freebies/zerowing.mid (original version)
http://c64audio.valuehost.co.uk/freebie ... ing_ca.mid (pepped version)

Well, yeah, I'd be the first (in this case, the second) to admit that musically it's a pretty poo three-chord tune... :)

Hoping to be able to start offering stuff early next week.

The music was taken from a Sega Mega Drive / Genesis game called "Zero Wings", this horizontal shooter became most famous for the "all your base are belong to us" quote from the intro... :D - check it out at http://www.allyourbasearebelongtous.com/

Well, probably a crap wavetable. Creative labs cards ship with god awful square and sawtooth lead sounds in their sets now, for instance.

Aha! Trade secret y'see :)

Seriously, I think with those sounds, the less wavetable memory the phone has, the better. Odd, really.

Very nice soundquality here with a SBClone ES1371,ES1373 and a Yamaha SXG MIDI driver (pure luck as several other MIDI files sound pretty crappy with it).
All is lost.

Not a great time to launch the service:
Whoever does these things needs... well, it's not pretty.

Dear Customer,

We regret that access to our payment and administration systems is severely disrupted due to a planned and large scale Denial of Service (DDOS) attack by a third party.

Our payment and administration systems are working, safe and secure, but the networks around them are being flooded with requests on a huge scale, causing 'service denials'. We are processing payments, but far slower and fewer than we normally would.

We are executing our contingency plans to move to full restoration of the service but cannot at this point in time predict when all customers will have the service restored without further interruption.

While attacks of this type can be anticipated, it does take time to identify and deal with the exact nature of a particular attack. We are doing everything that is possible to restore a full service as soon as is possible.

PLEASE NOTE: although we are subject to a "denial-of-service" attack, the integrity and security of our systems and data is in no way compromised.
