Hosting

Chris,

I've noticed you moved from advantagehost to valuehost, is this because you found advantagehost to be completly dishonest?

I know I did.

Advantagehost?

Who they?

At the moment my web hosting is spread between Hostcentric (where c64audio.com lives) and valuehost (where everyone else lives).

In previous years I've used: Verio (honest but too many 500 errors), IQL (criminal scum), and some company I don't even know the name of who were obviously only doing their hosting over an ISDN line :)

Not much luck with hosts, really. Hostcentric and VH have been OK. Who are Advantagehost then?

Funny for some reason I thought you were hosting the mobile stuff on Advantagehost originally, I must have been dreaming.

Advantagehost come under the catergory criminal scum, changing the agreement after a fews weeks of hosting asking you to hand over all your details (name, home address, phone number, etc.) to dodgy third party companys and then deleting your account anyway.

Sounds nasty!

I'm fairly happy with the current people I use, luckily. Valuehost were recommended by Skitz who knows one of the main techies, and Hostcentric used to be Virtualscape, who were one of the top New York hosting companies. They went through a dodgy patch with acquisitions and stuff, but they seem fine now. I'm still leaving them though :)

Hosts?

arrrgh, i've been through three in one year!

First one was a joke, second was ok but it didn't do what it said on the tin. The third one is cool though :)

Thanks Lman ;)

And I heartily recommend Boz! Not for hosting or anything, it's just a general recommendation. Weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, that kind of thing :)
