What kind of codec do I need for these AVIs?
On my WMP it looks like pixeltrash except every few seconds..

you need an actual divx Codec for the longplays.

Too hard to remember that URL, so I added a http://longplays.c64.org/ that points to the above location.

Have you guys considdered using BitTorrent to distribute the files? A lot better than ed2k in this reviewers humble opinion (okay, I'm biased - I did a presentation entitled "BitTorrent - a peer2peer loadbalancing solution" for an exam back in June. =))

No, BitTorrent is not planned from our site.
I don't know if someone shared the files over this.
