I'd love to know why, but I can't see any of the messages in this forum any more, since I get a funny regular expression error. If you can see this, then you don't have it, obviously :)

Hey, posting fixed the problem! <edit: no it didn't>

And yes, people do this all the time. They're useless piles of shit.

Quite right, Chris.

This isn't just unfair, this is stupid. Does this guy really think that it would never fall back on him? Is he so young or naive that he doesn't have the brain to judge this right?

Trace, hopefully this didn't ruin your weekend. :?

That's your remix allright.
What a fuckin' bastard!

He even has put up info on him using DOS and SIDPlay and a bunch of crap about what else he used to create it (ALT+3 in WinAmp, same as ID3-tag). How the friggin hell can someone think they would not be exposed doing this kind of lousy lowlife ripoffs??!?!?!

Kent,

I can prove at least twice that you did this remix before this lamer anyway:

1 - Kenz did me a special one-off CD for Christmas featuring obscure tracks, and at my request he placed on your EF mix. The CD is dated 1998.

2 - It was one of the tracks featured on the "Back in Time" deluxe set as part of the extra CD stuff. Chris should have an approximate date for that, but I'm sure that was around 1998 also.

Although somewhat unrelated, there may have to be a reason for Jan to remove the remixes of the title tune of the original SID (subtune #2 in the SID since #1 is the sample). Since the HVSC team got in touch with Neil Brennan, it turns out the title tune is a cover. Check out the STIL for more details.

Trace,

it happened to me 2 times in the past: the difference is that the guys who "stoled" where nested in record companies and took my submission/proposal for records to do what you can imagine...

...They did the records, and said they were the authors.

I'm speechless. Taking both credit for the work of others and benefitting from it commercially.

What do u expect from record companies - they must recon that EVERYBODY steels music from the net therefore everyone will suffer for it... they recon they can steel stuff from genuine authors to make up the shortfall - this screams of a setup to me where you say "HEY I DID THAT, YOU STOLE IT" and they say "YOU HAVE ANY MP3's ? THEN"

Youd think they would be respectful of artiste's rights though wouldnt you... course the bummer comes when some1 says "lets have more from that artist" and they go - DUH, he wont let us have any...

DUMBASSES just hurt themselves in the long run EVERY TIME.

Interesting info, that. But I don't think I'll let Fist tune #2 covers suffer from it. :D
