Just found out that the Dublin gig is actually spoken word so I'm presuming so is the rest of the tour.
Gah!
For the Rollins fans out there, pay attention!
The whole tour is, but I knew that anyway - and that was my excitement in the first place as I know how kick ass his spoken word tour is.Retrovertigo wrote:Just found out that the Dublin gig is actually spoken word
I've seen Henry do his spoken word thing twice before in Manchester (both times at the Academy) and I'll tell you this: you'll get immense value for your money. You're talking:
* on stage for at least 2 hours plus (last time was 2 hours 45 mins!)
* he's very funny when talking about all sorts of stuff
* general p-taking out of wussy bands
* intelligent comment on all sorts too
Put it this way, if you're not convinced, I highly recommend either "Think Tank" or "A Rollins In The Wry" on CD. The latter's last track "Encore" is particularly funny for anyone who's ever been in a relationship. Well worth it.
Whatever, go and enjoy yourself next month.

Aye! Hence my original exitement. Not to mention buying a ticket back in late October, even though the Copenhagen leg of the tour isn't until January 17th.Retrovertigo wrote:Just found out that the Dublin gig is actually spoken word so I'm presuming so is the rest of the tour.
Gah!
While I knew about Rollins Band and never much cared for their style, what originally got my attention was his regular segments on MTV Sports where he ranted about this and that. Loadsa spoken word CDs/books/segments on Full Metal Challenge later I'm as hooked as ever.
Now I got exited about this being my first chance to see the man do his thing live on stage all over again.
