Possible, I'm not really up to date anymore regarding dance/house/tech music... Of course "Call On Me" covers the 80s hit of the same name, but I guess that was not what you're referring to?

Ironically it always got me upset in the past if someone said "This is a clone of tune XY." and you know that tune XY was already a clone of tune ABC. There. Exposed myself.

Do you know by chance the name of the pioneer tune with the maxxed-out-compression-on-everything house style?

I also thought "Sound Of San Francisco" was an obvious clone of Benny Bennassi's "Satisfaction". Were there any predecessors, too?

as far as i remember it was etablished the times when french house music came in in the late 90s, especially thomas bengaltars tunes.
listen to daft punk. but it`s possible i heard it a few years before, but can`t remember then and it was on underground music only.

Ähh...doch..I mean...yes. But in a more general way. 95 % of today's chart music is cloned in some way, let it be the song itself, the melody or even the "artist" and the whole concept behind him. Streamlined to maximum financial efficiency. This "Call on me"-version is a great example for this . Is it made of anything other than the refrain? I don't know or I don't remember or whatever but this isn't really necessary cos the point is to sell it as a mobile ring tone 2 weeks later.

this fucking, boring "hit" is always hitting my nerves. the only good thing about this steve winwood sampled tune is the hot babe in the clip. nothing more about it.

But of course! Thomas Bangalter, Alan Braxe... they did that kind of stuff in the later 90s. Among my favourites, too. Thanks for reminding me Oj (so you're right about the 'old men' part, Romeo).

I must admit though that I quite like the Prydz tune, I just f*cking hate the hype around it (ringtones etc...). That's what spoils it.
