So what do you suggest, let the trek legacy die, or do the adventures of a C-class mining probe lol .... maybe NCC 1701-G Maybe cross Quantum Leap with Trek and have a starfleet vessel that can cruise time itself putting things right that once went wrong.... maybe the cap can have a hologramatic number 1..... No...wait..... LOL

putzi
Another "Babylon 5" freak here that wonders what happen to the possible feature-movie plans and "The Legend of the Rangers"
Personally "Insurrection" (1998) almost put me off Star Trek altogether. Furthermore I only find "DS9" and "Voyager" mildly entertaining. Luckly the Star Trek franchise bounced back with "Nemesis" (2002) but followed that up with the biggest yawn of all "Enterprise".

A nice read, too, explaining why Star Trek is more than a tv show.

Hardly. Nemesis was a poor mans Wrath of Kahn. It just further proved that TNG crew had absolutley nothing on Kirk and co. The last four movies are a total waste of time. I could also say that about the series from TNG onwards, but they all had their moments. Just my opinion of course.Luckly the Star Trek franchise bounced back with "Nemesis" (2002) but followed that up with the biggest yawn of all "Enterprise".
I may have mentioned it as a joke earlier, but I've been getting a lot of Farscape in on the digi box. They're showing the entire series daily and I've watched it from the first episode. It may have a cheap looking set and some pretty cheesy moments, but it's certainly one of the most out there sci-fi shows of recent years. Completely bananas. And Aeryn is quite an eyeful too.
Point is, I wish there were more shows like this. I've only gotten into it in the past few weeks, so I'm no great long-time fan. It isn't weighed down by great portentious themes of manly honour and captains duty, it has buckets full of humour and best of all, you never know where an episode can go. The aliens look... Well, alien. The idea of a sentient ship is great, as is the fact that our heroes are a bunch of escaped criminals who don't always get on. Can't fault it. I even like the theme tune, what there is of it.
It's like... Blakes 7 meets Buck Rogers with a better budget!
Oh dear. That is not a good way to sell it.
Great, another set of strings ruined...
