Bits of the RV5 write-up are also mine.
I did the interview with Neil, to help promote the ST album. There's one boxout missing though, with Neil's views on Japanese game soundtracks which I thought was very interesting...

Neil Carr wrote: JAPANESE SOUNDTRACKS
In many ways, the Japanese were a long way ahead of Western audiences. Game soundtracks have been released as albums for several years there. Neil believes strongly in the superiority of Japanese game music, and imports many famous collections for Western audiences.
“Japanese soundtracks stand out a mile, because every game title’s music is taken very seriously, it’s not an after thought over there unlike here in Europe. I wasn’t fully aware of Japanese music until I heard the Merregnon CD’s which I feel is heavily inspired on the Japanese ethic. Japanese Soundtracks can sell in large numbers mainly due to the video gaming culture in Japan and live symphonic concerts are the norm. Here it’s a rarity, although Thomas Boecker of Merregnon Studio’s is changing that in a big way. Thomas organised the FIRST videogame symphonic orchestra concert outside of Japan in 2003 and again in 2004 in Leipzig, Germany with critical acclaim.â€Â
“It now all depends if the rest of the world can follow the Japanese ethic. The signs are there with titles such as Headhunter Redemption (a CD actually recorded at Abbey Road Studios).â€Â
