Commercial Amiga Remix!

Post by Martin (IR) »

On the new Scooter album called "The Stadium Techno Experience", track 8 ("Level One") is a remix of Chis Hüelsbecks Turrican 2 soundtrack. I think the song was named "Freedom" in the game.
The remix is quite cool too, only it misses out some parts of the original.

I think you should report this to Chris Huelsbeck himself. This is not the 1st time Scooter stole from the VG-music world and i don't think C.H. will be soft with them.

cheers.

Hey, calm down...

The "keyboarder" (?) of Scooter, Jay Frog, formerly known as Jochen Frosch, is a very good friend of Chris. He did songs for Hulesbeck CDs. And he has asked Chris for permission, don't worry... 8)

He's lucky that Crazy Comets Main Theme is owned by Warner Bros...

Hi, I thought it was time to join this forum to be able to answer questions like these directly. However, I probably won't have the time to monitor this place all the time, so excuse if I don't answer right away.

Just to clarify: Yes, Scooter got my permission for the remix and I am quite happy how it turned out (in contrast to other remix projects in the past). I won't become rich though, my royalties on this are rather small.

Btw, Jay Frog's real name is Juergen Frosch, not Jochen... ;)

The funniest thing is how Scooter seems out to ape The KLF in every possible way. Sure, I don't mind the odd tribute/homage - but their level of obsession is just plain silly.
