Hey!
Makke! Oi! You're not going to criticize Star Wars are you? Don't even think about it... Jar Jar Binks may be funny, but he started the Clone Wars man!
And Episode 1 does not suck. We're not 12 year old anymore, that's the difference. C3PO was just as silly 20 years ago.
Think about it.
There. That had to be said.

Re: Hey!
That's true. However, the plots, bad as they were in the original trilogy, were leagues ahead of the total dross of 'episode 1' and partial dross of 'episode 2'. Also, Lucas hadn't hit upon the idea of promoting minor characters to staring roles in the whim of the fans (Boba Fett, anyone). Also, episode 1 had more in-jokes in it than any other film I've seen, bar Jay and Silent Bob. I saw it with someone who'd never seen _any_ Star Wars films, and he didn't know what on earth was going on, which underlines the weakness of the script.Rafael Dyll wrote:And Episode 1 does not suck. For my money, LotR really showed how to create an 'epic' in this day and age, and made the recent Star Wars films look extremely dated.
Well i think thats officially TOLD starwars......
<<<<Watches it and lucas walk out the room tail between its legs....being escorted by legolas..wearing his "i am epic" badge.
tbh i think larsecs film and plot made more sense than starwars episode 1 and was far more relevant.
If bobba fett was soooooo bloody important WHY wasnt he in the original films very often?........and when he was chasing luke about the place.....wasnt he more bothered about catching han solo or was that just me?
i think lucas writes the scripts on the toilet.....after a vindaloo and strongbow session and rather poetically due to being in the toilet......just writes any old chit....and expects us to swallow it.
the final 3rd of that trilogy gonna have to do something special.......and i just thought of it
theres gonna be a swedish porn scene between anakin and amidala
"how to make a luke in 3 easy steps.......jump... pump.... run"
probably be worth the price of admission alone.
anyway what was this discussion about again?

Wrong.
What exactly sucks in Episode 1?
The plot has absolutely no faults, it may be confusing to the unknowing, but hey, if you missed Star Wars, what the hell are you doing watching Episode 1??? If you're into Sci-Fi and you don't know Star Wars, erm... eh???
The whole idea of bringing up the story that leads up to the second trilogy has something about it. The introduction of Jango Fett, C3PO's creator being Darth Vader, the secret of the Storm Troopers, the way the Empire was formed and so many other details are just great.
I dare anyone to find a continuity fault in the two new films.
I think that most people who expected something else from the new films, are disappointed because they see the film from a 20-30 year old's view. We re kids back then, just remember. The magic is still in there. And I just that find the whole thing is a lot cooler now than with the cheesy hairdos from 1977. As much as I love SW.
