Well, he was comfortable, fulfilled and happy, and left a first-class legacy. Unlike most, he managed to achieve what he wanted to achieve and still have time to relax.

Bye bye Ronnie. I'll show my children what you did :)

It's sad, it really is. One of my poems on my website for this month is a little haiku devoted to the man, it'll be up later.

Four candles, did you say? No! Fork handles! Handles for forks! (etc) - a classic sketch that should live on, and not to mention Open All Hours, Porridge, and so on.

So it truly is goodnight from him. The world's a much sadder place.

The Two Ronnies and Open All Hours .. thats one hell of a flashback, I even remember watching them as a kid with my parents.

What about poor Granville (David Jason) always getting wacked with the broom by him.

I think my funniest memory of him was in a mini series within the Two Ronnies show called "The Worm That Turned".... ironicly a lot of that is coming true today albeit not as silly or to that degree.

A legend in doncaster.. God rest his soul!

For those who don't know..."open all hours" was filmed in Doncaster infact in my home village of Balby, less than 1 mile away from where i live!

He will be missed deeply!

The street in which it was filmed is called "Burton Ave". Ironically in my school days i had a good friend called "Jason" who lived just doors away from it!

The shop is now an hairdressers!
