Ripoff or what ?

Post by Hazel »

As I was trying to make some music I just realised that the song I was working on sounds a bit too familiar to something else... I know it's a C64 song/remix but can't figure out which one..

I don't know if it's a ripoff or just pretty damn close... The last thing I wanted was to release something that was a ripoff and then state it as my own work.. :(

Listen to this

Anyone who knows what song it reminds me about ??

I'm really getting to old for this !! ;)

Could be quite a few things it's like: the chord sequence is pretty generic.

Yeah.. I was afraid of that... That it reminds you of some c64 song..

The bassline itself is very common but it was the lead-thing which got me worried..

Hazel,

I think the SID tune going off in the back of your head is "The Beginning" by Mr Tel - which is quite ironic seeing you remixed it! :) Agreed, it's not exactly the same but just trying huming the lead while playing your new remix

BTW - have you got FL6.0.8 yet? When are we gonna collab? :)

Hmmm... It's not "Beginning".. I sure of that.. If that's the case then I'm really getting to old.. LOL..

Collab ? Very soon ;) I'm just working on finishing my new album so all my sparetime is used for that at the moment..

But as soon as I'm finished with that then we could work something out.. :)

Sounds very much like that tune Putzi remixed... Galactyforce

BUT, it also sounds like a tune from a certain soccer-game I can't remeber the name of

Ohh... Max... You cracked the code ;)
This was indeed the song I was thinking about.... The lead does sound familiar but fortunately it isn't the exact same... :) Which means that I can keep working on the tune...

Thanks for helping me out with this one... You could say that you kept me from going crazy ;)

Chris, Trace & Skitz.. thanks for trying to sort this out.. :)

As a big fan of Putzi's Galactyforce remix, I agree with Max... it does sound rather similar in places to it.
