There was a CD playing at work (which I would describe as being "strange meandering esoteric cobblers") but during one track I thought "hey, I know that bassline" - see if you can spot it too.
Sound clip linky

Which is more than I can say about listening to the music... someone actually put money into that pile of poo??? When they could have Makke??? Gah, the world just isn't right.
I think that bassline is a standard rhumba bassline... actually, it also shows up on Billy Joel's "An Innocent Man" too
Chris

You're probably right. The sid is still one of my favourites though. Absolutely marvellous :)

Correctamundo!
You win a copy of the "esoteric meandering cobblers" album which I shall post in the nearest drain tomorrow.
The album is actually called "The Ape of Naples" and one of the tracks sound like a Klingon love theme f'gods sake.
Thank Hubbard we have the SID, that's all I can say.

Oi! Nothing wrong with Coil, chaps, although sadly one member died a couple of years back, so the band no longer exists anyway.

I think I would need to take some sort of drug to listen an entire album of this type of music. Maybe drugs were taken while recording this album.

Not all Coil stuff is that extremeâ€â€a lot of it is Warp-esque electronica.
