And in Firefox it's dead easy too. Any site that has RSS feeds has a little orange icon that appears in the top right of the address bar. Click it and you can add the "live bookmark" as appropriate.

As for websites, RKO has had an RSS feed for ages, use it and then you'll always know when stuff gets released by checking the live bookmark, it'll then show you the latest 10 uploads.

IE 7 will also have built-in RSS reader. Nicely integrated. Currently I use RSS bandit. (free)

RSS provides a really nifty way to keep up to date on stuff, whether it's your favorite blogs, the news, or even new uploads on RKO.

And with the introduction of the "enclosure" feature it also provides a quick and hassle-free way to keep up on your favorite podcasts (insert C64 Take-away plug here) - even when your friendly neighbourhood talkshow host "forgets" to announce his 26th show just to see if anyone notices.

For readers I started out with the "Sage" plugin for Firefox since the default live-bookmark feature doesn't work well for my 30+ items subscription list. I then moved on to Google Reader as a web-based RSS reader allows me to check my feeds both at work and at home.

Lately I've become frustrated with the way Google Reader works and have now gone on to use another webbased system (http://www.bloglines.com) instead. But whatever floats your boat will do fine.
