Spirit of the Water...

Post by Feekzoid »

I've just finished composing a new bitty music for the Architectural company I now write for.

I kinda threw Dougie (the guy who does the renders) a suprise, as this piece came out very differently than he anticipated.

Anyhoo.. its one of those pieces that a composer kinda gets the hairs-on-the-back-of-the-neck-standing-up feelings when you write it..

and I just thought I find out what other people think of it.

I've done an expanded version of it, but I'll include the video version here so you can see what it was scored for:

Cheers for any feedback!

Excellent piece, is this a part time job with this company or full time?

Feekzoid. I love the piano work but for me the breakbeat kinda ruins it.... comes in out of the blue and the "braking" effect at the end sounds too much like the way a MOD would finsh.

Have you thought about using some "ethnic" style drums? Something similar to Thomas Deterts Indiana Jones remix?

Heh, am I showing my MOD legacy, Skitz? :D
I have to admit the drums went in very late, and mainly because I know what the designer is like, and he would have wanted something to punctuate the camera moves - so I bunged in some drums. As for the braking... alas, also a bit of an effect of the tight deadline in making the track, coupled with the fact that I have to tightly time the track whilst balancing against the fact that when I write this stuff I still want to get from beginning to end musically.

Analog-X:Its not even part time yet... the jobs are coming in as and when... but there have been 2 this month, one this coming weekend, and another the following weekend!

Also potentially 20x1min pieces for QTVR stuff :O

Would be nice to quit the day job... or at least go part time!

That's a real goodie... :D
Any chance for a link with a good MP3 of it?
I'm too stupid to get the song out of that wmv in good quality...

Nothing wrong with the vid but it doesn't play on my noise stick.

Definately! Don't get me wrong - I love the score but for me it would have worked better without the breakbeat riff.... my personal taste possibly :)
