huhu I'm not doing a remix of desert dream it's not in my plans...it was just a test for me (to test the guitar sound)Romeo Knight wrote:Hey gibs,
slowly you should start looking out for different drumkits, I don't wanna hear the same mediocre sounds over and over again!
Therefore I think that I haven't exploited completly this drumkit, I discover it each time I change the eq or the reverb its sounds differents...
I like the way it sounds on my "newyork97" cover, and it sounds better on my new "armageddon man" remix where I use more velocity so we can hear at least 3 samples/inst
I mean that I haven't done a good mix yet...my idea was to keep this one until the day I do a good mix, because I know how it sounds now, and I make it sound better and better each recording...
if I change my sound at each remix, I can't improve myself in mixing
But your idea about a new drumkit is welcome...wich one are you thinking about ?

This sounds like a dead end to me. IMO you're only able to improve your mixing skills if you choose and develop new sounds with every new production. It's not about manipulating poor sounds till they sound decent, it's more about finding the right sound for every mix. New sounds can also mean new inspiration for songs or remixes.gibs wrote:if I change my sound at each remix, I can't improve myself in mixing
Trash those drums and start anew. Completely from scratch.
I do not refer to this Desert Dream sample, I mean generally.
The one that's appropiate.gibs wrote: But your idea about a new drumkit is welcome...wich one are you thinking about ?

Ahh! Good old Anders Hansen ... still remember all the fun we had in Kefrens at the parties in the past... not to say the private parties we had laughing our asses off because of his parrents beer drinking pudel dog (yes! it was certainly an alcoholic! ).... I certainly remember the Desert Dream music... his best composition ever.
Still remember the first time in Kefrens when it was still based on friendship, and averyone did what they did for the fun of it... to be honest with you guys, the fall of Kefrens was becuase of the decision to have Atomic Team into the group (Promax etc.)... from that day on, everything started to be competition related inside the group... too bad
But as I've said before... Kefren will never die!... He's allready dead... ... and the spirit of Kefrens still lives within me, and allways will
