Fantastic landscape, wildlife and nice people. And my little girl had her first real swim without water wings.
I'll put a few extra piccies in the piccies thread soon.
@Markus S.: Where's my work then? :)

Indeed...although I guess I shouldn't complain, I got as far as Trondheim, Norway myself and it was awfully pretty there too. I didn't get to do a whole lot of tourism, though, since I was mainly working. It's kind of a shame I couldn't get a picture of the signpost for the town of Hell I caught a glimpse of through the bus window on the way to Trondheim airport on Sunday. :)

Getting back to Finland was something of an adventure, by the way. The first leg of the trip was supposed to be a Wideroe flight from Trondheim to Stockholm, but that was cancelled due to "heavy technical difficulties". Instead they put us on a Braathens flight to Oslo and from there on Scandinavian to Stockholm, but that meant I had to say goodbye to the connection I was originally supposed to take from Arlanda. Fortunately, during the stop in Oslo I managed to get myself a seat on the Blue1 late-nighter to Oulu, so the net result was that I touched down at my final destination around four and a half hours later than I would have, had I been able to stick to my original itinerary. My luggage, unsurprisingly, had made travel plans of its own - it was located in Stockholm yesterday and a courier dropped it off at my place earlier this morning. I'm really looking forward to shaving and not looking like a frigging lumberjack anymore...

(Actually, I never wanted to be a researcher. I wanted to be -- no, I'm not going to go there.)

Glad you had a good time Romeo.

I am going to Halkidiki at the beginning September. It will be my first official holiday with my daughter. :)

I wanted to drive down but due to very strict visa regime I'll have to go by bus on a group tourist visa.

Anyways I am still planning on having a good time. Let the good times roll :)
