Hi

Post by GeckoYamori »

I think it's about time I started socialising with the C64 Remix community. :D Some of you might know me from my recent Miami Vice mix at KRO.

I'm an active remixer at the neighbouring community Overclocked Remix, and to tell you the truth, I have never owned a Commodore 64, and I've only used one once in my life, playing International Karate at a friend's house. The system is also way before my time (I'm 17). Yet I've loved listening to .SIDs, or any music related to Commodore 64, which disproves that it is nostalgia alone that makes it enjoyable.

I promised myself I would do more C64 coverage after Miami Vice, and now I have 2 more mixes, from Last Ninja and Last Ninja 2!

The Last Ninja 2 one is a mix of the Central Park loading tune, in an old school Electro way. It's completed and submitted to KRO, cause I think I got just the sound I wanted. You can get it here!

The other Last Ninja one is a mix of the Wilderness tune. Grab it here!
It's not finished yet, so I'm all open for suggestions. I was thinking of adding some old Kung Fu movie samples to certain parts where I think they might fit, but I'm having a difficult time finding any.

Hi Gecko

I'm pretty new here myself but I'm happy to be the first to welcome you aboard. It's funny you should be talking about the wilderness level. If you're looking for samples try downloading bruce lee or jackie chan clips, id say theyd be you best bet. Might be alittle tricky to get a high quality sample though. Where might I be able to listen to your mix?

The links are in the posts... The color scheme is kind of weird though so it's hard to tell regular text from links. Just click the "here" text and you can download them

Hello Gecko, it's feedback time!

Wilderness - very good, some nice guitar. Builds well.

Electroninja - nice, maybe a little too similar to other mixes we've heard before, but overall I like it.
