Booking your flight and getting to Brighton
If you're getting a flight and you're not confident about finding your way to Brighton, then I have the following announcement:
Provisionally we will be running buses from Stansted to Brighton for
SID fans at the following times:
Friday: 6pm, 11pm (we may vary this slightly as people keep us informed
of their plans)
Saturday Morning: 11am, 3pm
and from Brighton to Stansted at 8am and 12 noon.
Price: £10 each way (this is £10 cheaper than the cheapest train fare
which is a Network Awaybreak at £30.80). And you get to travel with
other SID fans.
People will be given a central control phone number to check up
on the status of the buses and to notify of delays, and there will
be a designated pub or café in Stansted where people should wait until
the bus is ready. So that means for some people, BIT Live will start at
Stansted! How cool is that?
People are advised to come on the Friday because it's much more fun! You can get to Brighton and either go to the designated "Back in Time Live" pub, or go to bed. Then you get up to a bright new morning at the seaside and have a nice relaxed morning until 11am when you make your way to meet everyone else at BIT Live.
Needless to say, all of this requires us to be very organised, which requires _you_ to be very organised, and once tickets go on sale,
buy them quickly and book your flights and bus so we all know what's
going on
It also requires us to get that damn website up with loads of accommodation. Although I'll reiterate Wazza's URL:
http://www.brighton.co.uk
Select the accommodation section. It's always a bit crowded in Brighton,
but anywhere you select in the BN1 postcode should be near to the
venue. Brighton is that kind of place

What? No hot sweet man-love? Dang!dan gillgrass wrote:a couple of hotels are tried would not allow an all male party to stay (which is kind of funny with it being Brighton and all )
Chris, yes get that accomodation list up. I wish I read this post a minute earlier since I just emailed Jan asking how he was planning stuff.
Hmm...I'm going to put some money away on a different account right away so I don't blow it all on beer and bitches...well...beer anyway.

Actually, it was just going to be a rehash of
http://www.s-h-systems.co.uk/brighton.html
with additional hotels at
http://hotels.brighton.co.uk/
http://www.brighton.co.uk is also worth a look.
Most hotels are within 1 mile of the venue, a lot are closer.
So don't worry too much about where.
Alternatively, if you didn't mind kipping with a load of other SID fans,
I can offer you a place in my already-reserved "cheap" accommodation
(where PPOT and Marcel are staying behind the National Express
bus station... £40 for two nights squire

The reason for that is the same as Blackpool - they don't allow single sex group bookings because both venues are popular for hen/stag parties, you see, and the last thing the hotel wants is a bunch of 20 drunken souls at 3am chucking chunks all over the place or something.dan gillgrass wrote:a couple of hotels are tried would not allow an all male party to stay.
Most seaside resorts are actually going the same way, believe it or not.

I'm staying at the Royal Albion Hotel which is £49 a night. Not the cheapest but certainly worth a try.
The URL for them is http://www.royalalbion.activehotels.com/THE
Looking forward to the beach footy on the Friday evening. Anyone else on here playing as well?

That would not be a problem, sir. In fact, I think me and Jan had a chat about it earlier.Chris Abbott wrote:Alternatively, if you didn't mind kipping with a load of other SID fans,I can offer you a place in my already-reserved "cheap" accommodation (where PPOT and Marcel are staying behind the National Express bus station... £40 for two nights squire

Well, I have to be honest and tell you that I'm allergic to sports but if the crowd's cool I can handle itPaul Chapman wrote:

You can never have too much football (or soccer) in your life

@Dan: no worries. I just got a very good life insurance so I can take the train to Brighton
