Well, I started early in this year a project , and the project is called "Sunshine Team". In Sunshine Team I am willing to re-make old games such as MadTV, Sim Farm, Jill of the Jungle, H2O and many others. I wanted to remix some of the old game`s music, and firstly I asked a couple of musicians to help me with this but they didn`t done anything, and I trought that they are too busy with other projects, so I came to the trought to ask some questions about how to make music.
What software should I use to compose "real" digial (because I don`t have intruments outside of the pc) music (excluding midi) and where could I get instrument "sounds".
Or if somebody has some free time and wants to help me, I would be very thankfull, but still I can`t offer any payment, but if you are interested I could give you a full domain (.com) so you could post your portofolio there.
Thank-you,
>-Andy-<

Hi Andy,
welcome here.
It's not so easy to answer your questions since the only answer to most of them is "depends".
First of all, try this:

There might be some helpful info for rookies.
If you have anything more specific don't hesitate to ask here.

Well, I don`t know exactly what other questions should I ask...
Firstly i want to re-mix music taht isn`t really rock-ish. I wanted to know what software should I use for composing and where can I get instrument sounds because this is under the question mark for me at the moment.
If you want to know other things just ask
P.S.: The music I want to re-mix isn`t neccesary Amiga of C64, or other music.

Try Reason by Propellerheads Software.
http://www.propellerheads.se/
It's a highly sophisticated all-in-one package that fits the needs of beginners and pros.
(And there's a free demo for folks like you)

Agreed - it will give you the fullest range of sounds in one package.Romeo Knight wrote:Try Reason by Propellerheads Software.

If you're doing it on the cheap, try 'Renoise' ( http://www.renoise.com/ )which is free(ish) and a cheap workstation VSTi such as Luxonix's 'Purity' ( http://www.luxonix.com/home/en/products.html?id=purity ), which I reckon sounds amazing (for the price)
If you've got a bit more cash, go for Cakewalk's 'Dimension Pro' ( http://www.cakewalk.com/products/Dimens ... efault.asp ) or Steinberg's 'Hypersonic 2' ( http://www.steinberg.net/152+M52087573ab0.html ).
Any of these options will give a broad range of usable sounds to remix with - some cheaper than others

I imagine that the Reason forum would be the place to go for thatandy_blah wrote:Thank you very much for the suggestions but I think I`m going to choose Reason, I already buyed it and I wait for it to come next week. Could you give me some tutorials or something like that for n00bs (beginers)in music composing and to "support" Reason?
