I did a bit of research and found that this problem existed in phpBB back in 2005 and the authors of the phpBB mentioned that fix would be available in the next release.
Also in some other threads it was suggested that if you have "phpmyadmin" you can run the "Repair/Optimize" built in Feature of phpmyadmin to fix this issue.
I experience those errors often when serverload seems to be very high e.g. ping times are already very bad. Anyway - page reload and error's gone almost instantly.

Yup same here I just refresh.
As long as it doesnt cause a database corruption to our beloved website/forum.
Server load isn't very high on that machine. I wonder if maybe the backup is still causing problems. Me and LMan want to move server anyway, but it's tough to find cost-effectiveness and good support in the same package.

I know the feeling. Right I run a site for my Wife and we got a good deal as far as bandwidth per month and the type of service. However it is a Share Web hosting and a week does not go by that our site is down for 10-15 mintues and I have to create a ticket and they re-boot the server to get it up and running.
They have Virtual Server Hosting which would eliminate the problem but that is something like $44 a Month U.S. and I just cant afford it.
I wish I could setup my own server at home and do everything myself but no residential service exists like that, and any business service would just be astronomical.
