This might be of interest to some people so I thought to post it here and spread the news, as I am a sid fanatic myself. The whole of the HVSC is to be recorded twice over in mp3 format comprising of 400GB of 6581 and 8580 chip tunes.
Now, I think this feat is worthy of some attention.

Stone Oakvalley's Authentic SID Collection
Madness, it is. Be interesting to see what filter variation he uses on his 6581 R4 as well, not least because of the (infamous) filter variance.
It'll also be interesting to hear my stuff as he recorded it, see how it compares to my own recordings from the real thing. Especially some tunes which I know don't play well on an 8580...

He claims to have done a method to get rid of the SID buzz so it doesn't appear - it involves a bit of grounding with the audio/video output, apparently.
There's probably also a legal issue with the MP3 recordings in that the original copyright holder (in some cases, now Chris!) needs to be mentioned. I think Chris has already posted in the SOASC forums about that - it's going to need addressing.
And what about those C64 composers who've retained the rights to their SID tunes and have given HVSC exclusive permission to distribute them within the collection? Such as me, for example.

i admit i have a problem
my problem is, i dont get enough SIDs
i also have not heard enough new Abbott.
i also need a regular intake of Z Show. (yet another omission in recent times)
90% of the music in my car is C64
some people (ok .. Most people) call me 'sad'
i like SID Music
Who is going to remix 'short circuit' tune 1 ?
