Nexus [Blue Terminal Mix]

Post by Zyron »

My first post in this forum
to announce
My first c64-remix in almost 2 years.

I've always loved the moody Nexus soundtrack & played the game quite a lot back in the days, use to listen to the SID quite often.
Have wanted to enhance it a little since a long time but never figured out exactly what to do with it. It's a quite complex tune at times & has no real arrangement.
I had two possible ways to do this:

1) Re-arrange the lot, edit out a couple of passages & arrange the rest into something "easier" to grasp.
2) Leave it as it is.

I decided to go with alternative #2 since I just couldn't edit anything out of the track, it's just perfect the way it is.

The "remix" is made in Cubase & based on 3 exported channels of the original SID. The added speech consists of phrases & textlines from the game ran through some online speech-thingy.

I think it turned out ok.

The vocals remind me somehow of Anne Clarke. ;)
A weird SID transformed to a wierd remix.

Though this one isn't quite my cup of tea, it got something that says: Not bad, not bad at all! :)

I'm not sure I know who Anne Clarke is.

I can understand though if the remix isn't your cup of tea, it's probably hardly anyone's cup of tea except mine :)

Sorry, I mispelled her name, it's Anne Clark.
Some info is found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_Clark
and she got a homepage, too: http://www.anneclark.com
Your remix reminds me of her because she is a spoken word artist and uses her own style of recitative.

I'm no musician, don't let my 2000+ posts fool you. It would be more helpful for you if any of the other remixers could drop you a line or two.

I must say its great to have a remix of something that is different from the norm!

What's better still is i think this is the first remix of Nexus on the web!

Job well done.

I'll have to agree with the_jinx.
I really like this tune though it's not much of a remix in the traditional sense i guess but a great tune it is in my book nevertheless!
