Should RKO start using BitTorrent for downloads?

I use "Azureus" as my client and when downloading it allows me to select files/folders so If I start downloading the RKO Collection I can De-Select 2002-2005 and only download 2006.the_JinX wrote:Some of the newer bittorrent apps also support 'trackerless' torrents, these fuck up the stats..
Might be that but it still doesn't explain why the 2002-2005 get so little downloads..
That's not the point here...there isn't a complete torrent, but several ones. each spanning one release year. What the_JinX is saying, is that people are mostly downloading the 2006 one.Analog-X wrote:I use "Azureus" as my client and when downloading it allows me to select files/folders so If I start downloading the RKO Collection I can De-Select 2002-2005 and only download 2006.the_JinX wrote:Some of the newer bittorrent apps also support 'trackerless' torrents, these fuck up the stats..

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO what a ride'
I've set up a 24/7 seed on a 100mbit connection now too. All torrents are now completly downloaded and are seeding, except the 2002 one, which still lacks like a MB of data, but I guess it'll transform into a seed instead of a leech in a matter of minutes.Misser wrote:Have fun with the torrents ppl, atm i'm also Seeding them but Jinx and prolly Ziphoid will do the 24/7 seeding.

Help me out here.
Ok I would like to help and seed but I'm having difficulty. Here goes.
I went and created the following folder on my C: Drive.
C:\Data\Torrents\RKO\RKO-2000 Complete
in that folder I manually copied all the 2000 RKO MP3's. I than went and started downloading the 2000 Torrent and pointed to the above folder.
My torrent client started to complain that the size of some files are incorrect, look at list below.
So removed those files and resumed the torrent. Now I know I'm missing a a couple of songs, but it seems the torrent wants to download the entire collection again.
What am I doing wrong?
Bart Klepka - Greensleeves (Spherical Mix).mp3
DjLizard - Zak McKracken (IK (mix^2)).mp3
Ferrara - Last Ninja 3 (tune 7).mp3
Ferrara - Last Ninja III (tune .mp3
Ferrara - Last Ninja Remix (tune 7).mp3
Ferrara - Neon Nights.mp3
Ferrara - StarForce Nova (synthmix).mp3
Ferrara - Warhawk (sadmix).mp3
Magnus 'Komet' Lindberg - Delta (reconstruction mix).mp3
Peppy - Parallax (C64 remix).mp3
Ruiner - Druid 2.mp3
Small Team Of Experts - Last Ninja 3 Level 1 - Earth.mp3
Small Team Of Experts - Ninja Remix Level 6 - Mansion.mp3
THC Flatline - Parallax.mp3

If you have the torrent pointing to the correct directory maybe a manual rescan will fix the problem.Analog-X wrote:Ok I would like to help and seed but I'm having difficulty. Here goes.

etc.
Different file sizes i don't know, maybe you downloaded them earlier than me and they have been updated after.

Re: Help me out here.
I forced a Recheck and still no luck.
I dont know why there would be a size difference. Right from the start, I've always used Download Managers to get the tracks to make sure there wouldnt be any problems.
I'm stuck.

It was a bit of work but I'm now sharing from 2002-2006.
I had to first download/start the the torrent for each year. Than generate a batch file to copy that years tracks from my collection into the torrent collection than force a recheck at which point I got complaints about size difference in many of them and I had to sort that out.
Final result Minimal downloading before sharing.
What was surprising is the amount of tracks that I was missing from each year. I've been pretty good at collecting but I guess I've missed some here and there.
UPDATE: Ok figured the discrepancy of size difference in my collection vs the torrents, and it was by accidental visiting Thomas Deterts site. A lot of the tracks in my Collection are 128KBps where as the counterparts from the Torrent are in 160KBPS. Thomas Deterts Cobra is an example of that.

RKO 2006 Quarter 4 Update is now ready to be download http://tracker.slayradio.org/download.p ... te.torrent
I've decided to not make a complete 2006 one. And from now on do quarterly releases of the torrents. Expect RKO 2007 Q1 sometime around 02-04-2007

Does somebody use the built-in torrent client of opera ?
It downloads pretty good but I can't get it to distribute, it is permanently at 0kb, though it says it does share.
I can test outgoing ports but to no avail. The error message says something about looking for firewall & router configuration but the fw router can't possibly block all ports. As I'm connected to the router using NAT, this may interfere but it didn't when it worked some time ago with the old bittorrent client (though not without seeds).
I'm quite baffled, sadly out of time & power for researching this in detail.
Any suggestions with torrent in opera ?

Is there a plan to merge the updates and have a 2006 Complete?
Maybe when i do the Q1 2007 thing i'll merge 2006 + q4 2006 into a complete one. That should be just a mater off copying and renaming the dir. I'll come back on that later.Analog-X wrote:I'm sharing all RKO from 2000-2006Misser wrote:RKO 2006 Quarter 4 Update is now ready to be download http://tracker.slayradio.org/download.p ... te.torrent
